Process: Bathroom SoundScapes

In our exploration of the space of certain bathrooms, we recorded lots and lots of sounds that you would typically hear while in or around the loo. When then edited the files using Audacity and formed narratives from the small clips of sound. Here are our bathroom sounds stories:

We then refractured the sounds and uploaded them to Soundplant in order to “play” them on a Makey Makey. By completing an electrical circuit with your body, you can touch different wires and physically play the sounds in any order you like. By restructuring expected trajectories, we can examine horizons of expectation and assumptions we make about bathrooms (and a number of other things).
